Job Summary
Deliver exceptional customer service to members, guests, and program participants while creating a welcoming atmosphere and facilitating connections. Assess member needs to assist with exercise equipment and workout plans, then enforce all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and emergency safety procedures. Complete required facility rounds, ensure equipment and cleaning checklists are finished during shifts, and promote wellness programs during interactions. Support recruitment and retention by implementing wellness strategies and assist leadership with wellness events as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age or older
- Obtain required YUSA trainings within 90 days
- CPR and First Aid Certification within 90 days of hire
- Attention to detail, with a consistently high level of responsiveness and follow-up
- Must have the ability and patience to instruct classes while using effective communication and human relations skills to handle situations with people of all socioeconomic levels
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently
- Ability to constantly and quickly move to various locations in and around the entire facility
- Be able to lift 25 pounds or more
- Physically perform all CPR and First Aid skills and/or assist as needed in emergency situations
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Bend or stoop to reach various height levels
