Wellness Centre Transportation Driver and Coordinator

Job Summary
Conduct daily pre- and post-trip safety inspections for buses and vans, ensuring all vehicles are fueled, sanitized, and maintained per manufacturer guidelines. Safely transport approved passengers by designing and driving regular routes while supervising loading, unloading, and minor first aid needs. Communicate professionally with families and staff regarding schedules, service interruptions, and changes, reporting incidents immediately. Maintain valid licenses, CPR/First Aid certificates, and a clear driver's abstract while adhering to the Motor Vehicle Act and COVID protocols. Collaborate with the Supervisor to explore additional transportation needs and support department policy development. This on-call role requires flexibility for occasional deliveries and special activities outside normal hours.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 10 education
- Minimum of five (5) years of driving experience
- Knowledge of the community and city
- Respect for, sensitivity towards, knowledge, and understanding of shíshálh culture and traditions
- Be able to lift 40 lbs. when necessary
- Minimum Class 4 license with a clear driver's abstract throughout employment
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
- CPR and First Aid Certificate
- Pre-employment physical completed by a family physician or a Nurse Practitioner
- Must be able to adhere to the Medical Transportation Policy
