Job Summary
Oversee and deliver engaging wellness programming that promotes healthy aging through fitness, education, and resident engagement. Develop and coordinate wellness events, lead safe group exercise classes, and provide one-on-one personal training while collaborating with the Rehabilitation Department to complete Wellness Assessments and support residents transitioning into post-therapy programs. Partner with the Life Enrichment team to foster meaningful opportunities for resident engagement throughout the community. Maintain accurate resident fitness files, monitor participation for safety concerns, and ensure the Wellness Center remains clean and properly maintained. Adhere to all company policies, complete required training, and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Two years of experience in wellness/fitness or a combination of education and experience in field
- Knowledge of proper exercising technique according to industry standards as set forth by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)
- First Aid and CPR certifications
- Ability to work independently without close supervision
- Ability to work with confidential information and maintain its' integrity
- Strong customer service skills; maintain a hospitality approach to engaging with all individuals
Desired Qualifications
- Experience instructing group/individual exercise
- Willingness to become certified
