Job Summary
Collaborate with the center manager and members to plan, implement, and maintain all aspects of day-to-day operations at the Wellness Center. Work directly with the community to identify needs, connect with other organizations, and ensure members have access to referrals for substance use recovery, food banks, and financial support agencies. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of local resources and speak openly about personal recovery experiences to serve as a leader and role model for visitors. This part-time role requires 20 or 17 hours per week, with shifts on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays, and includes a mandatory Peer Certification within one year. CSPNJ prioritizes hiring individuals with lived experience in mental health and substance use to inspire and support others.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to communicate in English, both oral and written
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Knowledge of wellness, the mental health system, and community resources in the region
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Willingness to disclose current or prior use of mental health and/or addiction services and speak openly on aspects of their individual recovery
- Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner
- Ability to carry out domestic duties
- Must have a valid NJ Driver's License with acceptable driving record
- Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others
Desired Qualifications
- Peer Certification preferred
- Bilingual skills are a plus!
