Job Summary
Conduct Wellness Center Orientations and provide safe, enthusiastic, thorough, courteous assistance to YMCA members in the fitness center. Staff are identifiable by shirt and nametag; maintain cleanliness of equipment and facility, report mechanical or breakdown issues to the fitness director, assist with advice and spotting for members, encourage hygiene (wipe down equipment), participate in special events/open houses, and maintain surveillance during shifts. Emphasis on helping members live a healthy lifestyle and adhering to YGBW policies and procedures; completion of required certifications/trainings within 90 days of hire is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Effective communication skills and ability to interface with all personality types
- Knowledge and/or experience in basic exercise principles
- Obtain and maintain all additional new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
