WELDING VENDOR SURVEILLANCE AUDITOR

Job Summary
Welding Vendor Surveillance Auditor responsible for surveilling and evaluating suppliers to ensure delivered equipment complies with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and performance specifications. Travel onsite for inspections, document reviews, and functional testing; manage supplier corrective actions and prepare detailed audit reports with photos. Verify base materials, consumable welding materials, and welding equipment align with specifications and welding procedures are qualified. Maintain and review inspection data and supplier files; communicate audit findings to cross-functional teams and suppliers. Interface with suppliers to ensure product compliance, develop measurement techniques for product release at suppliers, and provide manufacturing support. Monitor quality metrics, assist CAPA investigations, review supplier changes, and support continuous improvement. Travel 90-100% and operate in remote or field settings, with strong emphasis on safety, documentation, and interdepartmental coordination.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED or higher
- 2 years Welding Inspector experience and/or 5 years welding experience
- Ability to travel 90-100%
- Ability to read drawings/instructions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Adobe Acrobat
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving and root-cause analysis abilities
- Visual inspection and audit reporting experience
