Job Summary
Welding Technician position responsible for repairing and fabricating equipment using a range of welding processes (Stick, MIG, TIG, Dual Shield/Flux Core Wire, Sub arc, tin ware repair) with Technician III or IV assistance as needed. Applies knowledge of steel properties to select the appropriate welding method, sets up equipment correctly, and performs fabrication tasks including line-boring and straightening. Requires intermediate proficiency in welding and fabrication, ability to attain certification in welding processes, understanding of the metric system, and strong communication and safety awareness. Role emphasizes customer care standards, safety compliance, teamwork on strategic programs, and the ability to work overtime. Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and pass safety requirements in a safety-sensitive environment.
Required Qualifications
- Proof of high school diploma or GED
- Associate Degree preferred
- One year minimum welding and industry-specific machine work experience required
- Experience with MIG, TIG, and Stick processes preferred
- Proficiency/certification as a welder/fabricator of heavy equipment preferred
- Must be able to communicate in English
