Welding Tech (Welding Experience required)

Job Summary
Provide on-the-job training for new welders, coach quality welding skills, and assess welding procedures within the plant. Adjust welding machines using calibrated instruments to measure gas flow, wire speed, and voltage, while troubleshooting and repairing welding equipment and guns. Perform production welding when supervision requires assistance and audit welding processes to ensure structural soundness and aesthetic standards. Maintain safety and housekeeping standards throughout the production environment. This role supports Greenbrier's global workforce in designing and manufacturing freight rail transportation equipment.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to accurately demonstrate visual inspections for safety, equipment and processes, parts and welding processes
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions including mechanical drawings, blue prints and schematics
- Ability to work both alone and in a team environment
- Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to receive and interpret information and communicate it accordingly
- Ability to make quick, effective judgements to resolve problems or navigate challenges
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency test/GED
- 2+ years experience in welding in manufacturing environment
