Job Summary
Teach welding and Trades and Industrial courses aligned to district curriculum and state standards; design and implement instructional strategies; integrate technology into instruction; collaborate with special education to provide accommodations (IEPs); supervise instructional aides/volunteers; lead extracurricular activities; foster professional growth and maintain a safe welding lab environment with appropriate PPE and lab procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (preferred)
- Or an associate degree with an equivalent combination of education and work experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for the subject and level assigned, such as: Trades and Industrial Education (T&I) Grades 6-12 (preferred) or relevant work experience may qualify for a certification waiver under the District of Innovation Plan
- Experience: One (1) year of clinical teaching (preferred); One (1) year of full-time teaching experience may be substituted for clinical teaching experience
- Three (3) years of welding industry experience
- American Welding Society (AWS) certification or ability to obtain within the first year of employment
