Job Summary
Oversee daily welding and fabrication activities on a pharmaceutical project, ensuring work complies with Approved Welding Procedure Specifications, project drawings, and stringent GMP standards. Monitor weld quality, liaise with QA/QC inspectors for NDT and documentation, and maintain material traceability for high-purity systems. Coordinate with pipefitters, mechanical teams, and validation groups while ensuring welders remain qualified and certified. Maintain welding logs, weld maps, and turnover documentation, and identify technical or site-related issues. This role supports commissioning and validation activities within a Belgium-based team.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a Welding Supervisor
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry standards (e.g., hygienic piping, orbital welding)
- Ability to ensure work complies with Approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Ability to ensure work complies with Project specifications and drawings
- Ability to ensure work complies with stringent pharma, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., GMP)
- Ability to monitor weld quality and ensure adherence to QA/QC requirements
- Ability to liaise with QA/QC inspectors for weld inspections, NDT, and documentation
- Ability to ensure proper material traceability (e.g., stainless steel, high-purity systems)
- Ability to coordinate with other trades (pipefitters, mechanical teams, QA, validation)
- Ability to ensure all welders are qualified and certified for required procedures
- Ability to maintain welding logs, weld maps, and turnover documentation
- Ability to support commissioning and validation activities
- Ability to identify and resolve technical or site-related welding issues
- Willingness to work in Belgium
- Willingness to follow a Rotation Plan
