Job Summary
Welding Quality Engineer (Technical) sought to verify processes and products in line with company systems at the Glasgow Cathcart facility, ensuring manufactured, purchased, and assembled items meet drawings/procedures and external regulations (ISO 9001, ASME, EN 9712 PCN, SNT-TC-1A). Responsibilities include weld surveillance, inspection of pre-weld setups and in-process welds, producing weld maps, coordinating with internal departments to resolve welding/fabrication quality issues, supporting welder qualification testing, and adherence to Environmental Health and Safety policies. Requires experience in fabrication, welding, and assembly; CSWIP visual testing; familiarity with SAP; ability to travel to sister/vendor/customer sites; right to work in the UK and eligibility for security clearance. The role emphasizes integrity, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work with limited supervision, with a flexible travel expectation and a commitment to training others.
Required Qualifications
- CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 Visual testing
- Experience in Fabrication, Welding and Assembly
- Experience of ISO9001,NQA-1, ASME Codes and Standards, RCC-M, ASNT-TC-1A and EN ISO 9712 would be an advantage
- Basic computer proficiency
- Experience with SAP system (Desirable)
- Ability to obtain security clearance and valid right to work in the UK
