Job Summary
Instruct adult incarcerated students in welding to prepare for entry-level employment, covering Basic Safety, hand and power tools, base metal preparation, equipment setup, cutting/gouging metal, shielded arc welding, and beads/fillet welds; plan and direct learning activities, follow Windham School District curriculum guides, participate in staff development, attend meetings, and contribute to program evaluations; maintain lesson plans, attendance records, and progress reports; administer tests and assessments; ensure compliance with WSD policies, TEA requirements, and related procedures; create a positive classroom environment, supervise students (and teacher aides as needed), and perform other duties to support instructional goals; demonstrate effective oral and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interpret policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Five years full-time welding experience within the past ten years
- Thirty semester hours from accredited college/university/technical school may substitute for experience (year-for-year, up to four years)
- Statement of qualification verifying work experience (Windham School District must be able to issue)
- Ability to use personal technology to perform job duties remotely if required
