Job Summary
Inspect welds to ensure compliance with AWS D1.1, UL-142, ASC standards, and project specifications. Verify proper materials, welding procedures, and processes against drawings and work instructions. Document inspection results, complete required reports, and identify weld deficiencies for communication and tracking. Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve non-conformances and support root cause analysis. Maintain consistent shop floor presence to monitor activities and uphold safety and quality practices. Work M-F 8:00 am - 4:30 pm in Virginia Beach, VA.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of proven Welding expertise experience
- Minimum 3 years of Welding Inspector experience
- Strong understanding of welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, etc.)
- Knowledge of NDT methods
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings
- Willingness to learn and obtain welding inspection certifications if not already certified
Desired Qualifications
- Open to attainment of AWS CWI certification or in the process
