Job Summary
Conduct pre-shift meetings, delegate daily assignments, and execute scheduled work orders to meet customer requirements. Manage production, scrap, and rework reporting while resolving issues to hit safety, quality, and shipping goals. Train employees, maintain records, and assist in incident investigations to provide a safe working environment. Act as the First Responder for the Plant and support the supervisor in achieving area goals. This role requires standing for 10–12 hours, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in extreme temperatures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in manufacturing / production environment
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in the relevant area (welding, pressure vessels, etc.)
- Basic computer skills – MS Word and MS Excel
- Epicor
- Ability to interact in a positive and professional manner with management and other employees to achieve goals
- Demonstrated ability to support, promote, and adhere to the Westerman philosophy and Code of Conduct
- Demonstrated strong leadership and organizational skills
- previous leadership experience
- Basic ability to troubleshoot production/personnel issues
- First Aid/CPR Training
- Emergency Response Training
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, up to entire length of shift (10 – 12 hours)
- Must be able to handle physical, repetitive work
- Must be able to exert moderate to heavy physical effort with lifting requirement up to 50 pounds
- Must have a strong range of motion
- Must be able to sit, stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and bend repetitively
- Must be able to see, speak, read, and hear
- Must be able to read instructions and all measuring devices
- Must use fingers and hands to manipulate tools and small parts
- Must be able to walk over both even and uneven surfaces
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE
- Must be physically able to access all areas of the plant and grounds
- Must be physically able to crawl in and out of vessels
- Must be able to operate required tools safely
Desired Qualifications
- Basic computer skills – MS Word and MS Excel; Epicor preferred
- Demonstrated ability to support, promote, and adhere to the Westerman philosophy and Code of Conduct
- Demonstrated strong leadership and organizational skills required; previous leadership experience preferred
- On the job training as needed to enhance safety, productivity, and troubleshooting skills
