Job Summary
Program, optimize, and troubleshoot robotic and collaborative robotic welding systems while developing weld paths, teach points, and sequences for new products. Lead commissioning and validation of robotic welding cells, establish welding parameters for manual and automated applications, and qualify procedures per ASME and customer specifications. Analyze production data to drive continuous improvement, investigate weld failures through root cause analysis, and develop corrective actions for recurring defects. Ensure compliance with metallurgy standards and support NDE and destructive testing activities. Requires 0-2 years of welding engineering experience, proficiency in GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW, and ability to stand for 8 hours daily.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Welding Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 0-2 years of welding engineering experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
- Experience with robotic welding programming and automation technologies
- Strong understanding of GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and stainless steel fabrication
- Knowledge of welding metallurgy and distortion control
- Experience with robotic process optimization, machine vision, seam tracking, or adaptive control systems
- Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per day
- Occasional lifting, carrying, and maneuvering up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and platforms for elevated work
- Walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, balancing, stooping, lie down inside or under vessel and twisting while performing required job tasks
- Comfortable in chemically Hazardous Situations
- Being mindful of chemical safety and use proper PPE when required
- Ability to grasp welding torch while welding parts for brief periods to long periods of time
Desired Qualifications
- CWI, CWE, or robotic programming certifications preferred
