Conduct welder performance qualifications (WPQ) and training, collaborating with design teams to optimize weldment designs. Interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols, applying knowledge of processes like GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, and SAW alongside NDT methods and quality control procedures. Requires a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years of manufacturing experience, and CWI certification. Salary range $84,000 - $124,000.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in welding engineering within a manufacturing environment
- CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of various welding processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW) and their applications
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols
- Experience with NDT methods and quality control procedures for welded components
Desired Qualifications
- AWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification
- Experience with robotic welding systems and programming
