Job Summary
Develop, deploy, and scale automated welding systems for SpaceX’s Raptor engine combustion chambers and nozzles, covering manual and automated arc/beam welding, automated weld-path optimization for complex geometries, real-time weld process control and monitoring, data pipelines for telemetry and statistical process control, fixture and material handling solutions, and welding automation improvements via scripting (Python) and PLCs. Collaborate with propulsion design, materials, production, and supply chain teams to translate designs into robust, scalable welding processes that improve manufacturability, reliability, and performance; requires working with high-temperature alloys and regenerative cooling structures, and traveling up to ~10% for launch/test support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
- 1+ years of experience with welding processes for complex metallic components
