Job Summary
Teach Welding and Fabrication Technology courses, including theory and lab classes, while planning daily student activities and supervising technical project grades. Instruct students in a live work setting, covering shop safety and welding techniques such as SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW. Maintain a safe worksite, enforce safety standards, and assist with lab equipment maintenance, curriculum development, and scheduling. Participate in college governance, committee work, and student advising. Requires an associates degree or certificate with five to seven years of experience, proficiency in welding and mechanical repairs, and excellent communication skills. Part-time evening schedule at Ranken Technical College.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Welding and Fabrication with at least 5 years of experience
- Certificate in Welding and Fabrication with at least 7 years of experience
- Ability to weld with SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW in all positions
- Mechanically inclined and experienced with mechanical repairs on industrial equipment
- Computer literate in MS Office
Desired Qualifications
- Community college or technical school teaching experience preferred but will train
- Excellent presentation skills including strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles
- Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines
