Job Summary
Select appropriate welding methods such as TIG, MIG, MAG, or stick to weld parts, components, and installations per blueprints and manufacturer specifications. Plan work layouts using shop math, set up conventional lathes for part preparation, and perform assembly, repairs, and installations based on technical drawings. Verify quality of finished work, troubleshoot process and equipment problems, and collaborate with machinists and assemblists to solve repair and equipment issues. Record accurate data on computer systems or manual logs, maintain safe workplaces with proper protective equipment, and clean and maintain machines and tools. Carry out heat treatment operations per instructions while meeting production goals for efficiency, schedules, and scrap.
Required Qualifications
- Welding experience in a manufacturing or repair environment
- Able to define, evaluate, and discuss quality workmanship related to welding
- Must show a customer-service mindset for on-time delivery and quality work
- Standing for long times required
- Repetitive arm motions
- Frequent lifting
- Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
- Demonstrated track record of reliable, dependable attendance
- Able to work overtime and weekends as required on short notice
- Welder certificate
- HS Diploma / GED
- 5-7 years relevant experience
Desired Qualifications
- Welding experience in mechanical manufacturing or valve industry
- PT and MT related certificates
- Post weld heat treatment experience
- Good technical understanding
- SAP knowledge
- Can work independently, flexibly, and accurately
- Good team spirit and initiative
