Job Summary
Perform layout and fit up from blueprints, execute fillet, PJP, and CJP welds using Dual Shield, MIG, SMAW, and Sub-Arc procedures. Cut, cope, drill, and fabricate parts while maintaining weld preparation and clean-up standards. Interpret shop and design blueprints, including AWS weld symbols, and apply general knowledge of AISC, AWS D1.1, and D1.5 codes. Lead a crew of fabricators and adhere to fabrication and erection standards. This role requires proven SMAW experience, ability to certify in any process, carbon arc capability, and the physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and move shop equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) experience
- Ability to certify with any process in any position
- Ability to carbon arc
- Ability to read blueprints including AWS weld symbols
- Ability to lead a crew of fabricators
- Must be able to move shop equipment and material throughout shop
- Must be able to lift up to 75 Ibs.
- Pre-employment physical and drug testing
Desired Qualifications
- General knowledge of AISC standards and AWS D1.1 and D1.5 codes
