Job Summary
Perform layout and fit up from blueprints, executing fillet, PJP, and CJP welds using Dual Shield, MIG, SMAW, and Sub-Arc procedures. Cut, cope, drill, and fabricate parts while maintaining weld preparation and clean-up standards. Interpret shop and design blueprint drawings to ensure compliance with AISC, AWS D1.1, and D1.5 codes. Lead a crew of fabricators and demonstrate general knowledge of fabrication and erection standards. Requires proven SMAW experience, ability to certify in any process, carbon arc capability, and physical ability to lift 75 lbs and move shop equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) experience
- Ability to certify with any process in any position
- Ability to carbon arc
- Ability to read blueprints including AWS weld symbols
- Ability to lead a crew of fabricators
- Must be able to move shop equipment and material throughout shop
- Must be able to lift up to 75 Ibs.
- Pre-employment physical and drug testing
Desired Qualifications
- General knowledge of AISC standards and AWS D1.1 and D1.5 codes
