Job Summary
Perform layout and fit up from blueprints, execute fillet, PJP, and CJP welds using Dual Shield, MIG, SMAW, and Sub-Arc procedures. Cut, cope, drill, and fabricate parts while maintaining weld preparation and shop clean-up. Interpret shop and design blueprints, including AWS weld symbols, and apply general fabrication, erection, AISC, AWS D1.1, and D1.5 standards. Lead a crew of fabricators and demonstrate carbon arc capability. This safety-sensitive role requires moving shop equipment and lifting up to 75 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) experience
- Ability to certify with any process in any position
- Ability to carbon arc
- Ability to read blueprints including AWS weld symbols
- Ability to lead a crew of fabricators
- Must be able to move shop equipment and material throughout shop
- Must be able to lift up to 75 Ibs.
- Pre-employment physical and drug testing
Desired Qualifications
- General knowledge of AISC standards and AWS D1.1 and D1.5 codes
