Job Summary
Perform layout and fit up from blueprints, execute fillet, PJP, and CJP welds using Dual Shield, MIG, SMAW, and Sub-Arc procedures. Cut, cope, drill, and fabricate parts while maintaining weld preparation and clean-up standards. Interpret shop and design blueprints, apply AISC and AWS D1.1/D1.5 codes, and lead a crew of fabricators. Requires proven SMAW experience, carbon arc capability, and ability to lift 75 lbs. Pre-employment physical and drug testing are required. Stinger Bridge & Iron is an AISC and PCI certified fabricator specializing in the Southwestern Bridge and Highway market.
Required Qualifications
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) experience
- Ability to certify with any process in any position
- Ability to carbon arc
- Ability to read blueprints including AWS weld symbols
- Ability to lead a crew of fabricators
- Must be able to move shop equipment and material throughout shop
- Must be able to lift up to 75 Ibs.
- Pre-employment physical and drug testing
Desired Qualifications
- General knowledge of AISC standards and AWS D1.1 and D1.5 codes
