Job Summary
Lift, assemble, tack, and position joist pieces at the jig while setting up MIG welding equipment to join metal parts. Read shop blueprints and welding specifications to apply precise, consistent welds that meet quality standards and produce defect-free results. Maintain a clean work area following 5S standards and perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of MIG welding machines. Comply with all Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Lean policies. Afternoon shift from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM. CWB Certification required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years related MIG welding experience and/or training on steel production lines; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CWB Certification
- basic English reading and mathematical skills
- Ability to follow instruction and work within a team environment
- Strong awareness of surroundings taking into account safety of self and others
- the ability to produce welds which meet company quality standards
- the ability to lift parts as needed
- the ability to work at a pace established by production standards
- Afternoon Shift: 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM
