Job Summary
The Welder role on 1st shift involves welding production orders or components using MIG, TIG, and robotic processes to meet customer and quality specs. Responsibilities include assembling parts to complete units, fixture welding inner assemblies, insulation wrapping, auto-welder operations, end-of-cell checking fixtures, air testing; measuring welded components per blueprint with templates and gauges; setting up and operating machines to produce finished products; performing specialized assembly operations (jigging, air testing, v-bands); using hand/power tools; completing paperwork; participating in corrective actions and continuous-improvement meetings; adhering to safety/OSHA standards; and maintaining a safe, organized work area. The role requires endurance for a 10-hour shift, lifting up to 25 lbs, and on-site presence in Viroqua, WI.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass the Nelson Global Weld Test.
- Must remain current on all welding methods required by NGP or our Customers.
- Must have demonstrated mechanical aptitude, proficiency in shop math (fractions, decimals, metric), ability to read and follow specific routing instructions, ability to read blueprints, proficiency in the use of appropriate measuring instruments (tape measure, dial calipers), ability to check quality of parts against templates.
