Job Summary
Conduct aluminium and stainless steel TIG and MIG welding with precision, reading blueprints to plan layouts and procedures. Set up components according to specifications, operate angle grinders to prepare parts, and align pieces using calipers and rulers. Weld components in various positions using manual or semi-automatic equipment, ensuring welds meet EN and ASME code specifications. Maintain equipment to ensure safety and operate material handling machinery in a warehouse environment. Requires minimum five years of welding and fabrication experience and an AWS welding certificate.
Required Qualifications
- Aluminium and stainless steel TIG and MIG welding capability and experience
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
- Set up components for welding according to specifications
- Ability to work with minimal supervision on more complex fabrication projects
- Operate angle grinders and other tools to prepare the parts that must be welded
- Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
- Able to determine that weld meets EN and ASME code specifications
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (GTAW, SMAW, FCAW)
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
- Minimum five years welding and fabrication experience
- Ability to lift and work with various materials and/or tools
- Ability to bend at different heights
- Ability to work in various temperatures
- Ability to be on feet for an extended period of time
- Close vision
- Ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Certification (AWS welding certificate) will be a plus
