Job Summary
Install and repair various truck equipment for municipal, industrial, commercial, and private clients, including dump bodies, roll-off hoists, flatbeds, and hydraulic kits. Ensure all welds meet quality assurance standards by determining appropriate welds per customer specifications. Prepare parts through cutting, grinding, and sanding while reading and executing blueprints and job orders. Follow proper job order procedures with a supervisor to ensure end products match customer or bid specs. Maintain technical proficiency through product training and stay updated on new industry equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Three to five years of Welding experience in 1 or more of the following: MIG, TIG, Stick
- Possess a technical understanding of Class 7 and Class 8 diesel truck chassis
- Must be able to understand chassis specification data and chassis design drawings and dimensions
- As well as equipment specification data and technical drawings
- Should have a strong knowledge of Equipment hydraulic applications, air and electrical circuit applications
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and manuals
- Ability to write reports, and effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers
- English and or bilingual English/Spanish
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, add, subtract, multiply and divide alone with ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
