Job Summary
Conduct welding and fitting tasks for steel pipeline maintenance and construction using oxyacetylene and electric equipment. Operate medium-weight to full-sized trucks, load/unload materials, and manage boom, winch, and vacuum trailer auxiliary functions. Perform general labor including damage prevention activities such as line locating and right-of-way marking while reading blueprints. Provide labor and inspection support on pipeline and facility projects, adapting to changing circumstances and various environmental conditions. Requires a DOT CDL with HazMat endorsement and ability to pass API 1104 and ASME Section IX tests. 26-75% potential travel required.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, internal and external customers
- Ability to work in stressful and changing environmental conditions
- Ability to work under time pressure, tight deadlines and interruptions
- Ability to use a personal computer with the Windows operating system to complete time sheets, send and receive e-mail, and access information posted on the Company's intranet
- Ability to operate a multi-line phone system
- Ability to follow instructions or standard procedures
- Ability to compile and/or examine information and select the best action from defined alternatives
- Ability to organize and/or analyze information and identify solutions from a range of alternatives
- Must pass test based on API 1104, Standard for Welding pipelines and related facilities, and ASME Section IX, Recommended Pipeline Maintenance Practices within 30 Days
- Obtain a Department of Transportation CDL license with HazMat endorsement regarding truck drivers within 60 Days
- Exhibit safe working habits and develop a working knowledge of company's procedures within 120 Days
- Must be qualified in specific tasks according to the Company's Operator Qualification (OQ) Plan
- Ability to lift 100 pounds of force occasionally

- Must be able to provide labor and/or inspection support on various pipeline and facility maintenance projects
- Must be able to perform line locating and ROW (Right of Way) Marking
- Must be able to quickly adapt to changing circumstances
- Must be able to perform tasks in various environmental conditions
- Must be able to respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions
- Must be able to follow safety precautions
