Job Summary
Construct and manufacture metal parts using various welding techniques, reading blueprints and schematics to interpret engineering drawings. Perform quality inspections on welds to ensure they meet specifications and standards while fabricating items required to complete assigned tasks. Utilize hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and maintain large tools used in the fabrication department. Collaborate with team members to plan and prioritize work assignments, understanding material properties to select suitable weld processes. Requires lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally and working in a fast-paced environment under stressful conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing
- Ability to pass structural weld inspection
- Knowledge of steel and aluminum fabrication techniques
- Ability to use various power and hand tools
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass a Post-offer background check, physical and drug screening
- Frequent mobility and/or sitting, standing, bending or stooping for prolonged/extended periods
- Requires lifting up to 50 pounds frequently
- Requires lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally
- Requires eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate machinery
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity
- Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours
- Requires working in a fast-paced environment
- Requires a normal range of hearing and vision
- Must understand vague and implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations
- Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in machine operations in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
