Job Summary
Welder needed to fabricate steel products including ASME pressure vessels and related components. Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints and welding symbols, performing MIG/FCAW/SAW welding across 2G–6G positions, using overhead crane for handling components, setting up welding machines per WPS, inspecting welded joints visually and ensuring adherence to safety standards, and passing required pipe tests and inspections. Required Qualifications
- Must pass a drug test
- Must pass a background check
- Must pass a pipe test on super coupon (6G position)
- Weld Test Requirements including open root, 6G welding passes, UT testing eligibility
- Read blueprints and drawings
- Read measurements and lay out components
- Operate or set up welding machines (semi-auto and manual) within WPS parameters
- Weld in all positions (2G, 3G, 5G, 6G) including fillet welds
- Understand welding processes: GMAW (MIG), FCAW (FLUXCORE), SAW (SUBARC)
- Operate overhead crane
- Perform visual inspections and corrections as needed
- Maintain safety gear and PPE
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Must have pulsed MIG welding experience
- Bridge to UT/inspection tests and welding quality standards
