Job Summary
Read blueprints, geometrical call outs, and weld symbols to weld tanks and metal parts using GMAW-P, GMAW-S, and GTAW processes. Perform welding on carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminum while hand-laying weldments and utilizing fixtures, gauges, and jigs to meet customer specifications. Assist with creating work instructions and complete first-piece and final inspections using calipers, height gauges, protractors, and tape measures. Analyze weld processes to recommend improvements. This first shift role in Madison, WI offers a $24/hour rate based on experience and includes health insurance, vacation pay, and a 401(k).
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a Welder
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, geometrical call outs and weld symbols
- Proficiency in GMAW-P, GMAW-S, and GTAW welding processes
- Ability to weld carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
- Ability to hand layout weldments
- Ability to use fixtures, gauges, and jigs to manufacture welded parts
- Ability to complete first piece in process and final inspections using calipers, height gauges, protractors, and tape measures
- Ability to analyze weld processes and recommend process improvements
- First shift availability
