Job Summary
Welder at Toromont Cat performing welding and fabrication work to repair and fabricate Caterpillar equipment and components. Responsibilities include operating electric, acetylene and semi-automatic welding equipment, fabricating structures from drawings, maintaining quality workmanship to established standards, disassembling and assembling components, restoring damaged steel and cast iron parts, maintaining materials inventory, and building strong customer relations. Must demonstrate safe, environmentally sound work practices and participate in the company’s safety programs. Requires post-secondary welding education, 3 years of welding experience with GMAW/SMAW/FCAW, and is enhanced by a CWB/Red Seal and line-boring experience. Location coverage includes Eastern Canada with opportunities across multiple locations; role emphasizes flexibility and teamwork within a safety-focused shop environment.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in welding
- 3 years professional experience with GMAW, SMAW and FCAW techniques
- CWB or Canadian Red Seal certification (an asset)
- Experience in line-boring (an asset)
