Job Summary
Welding Technician responsible for Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) of thin-walled stainless tube in multiple positions, reading and applying dimensional drawings, preparing components, assembling per work orders, and performing/teaching automated welding processes. Must operate automated welding equipment, verify weld quality per ASME BPVC and customer specs, interpret 2D drawings, use measuring tools, and ensure safety compliance. Includes setup of plasma-arc cutting torch, material handling within weld cell, and adherence to OSHA safety practices. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ASME Section IX GTAW certification or ability to pass during interview
- experience with GTAW welding stainless steel (316L)
- ability to read dimensional drawings
- ability to interpret measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers)
- familiarity with ASME welding procedures
