Job Summary
Operate automated welding and plasma equipment to weld outlets onto pipe, perform manual rewelds, and load, position, and unload materials using proper handling techniques. Inspect welded assemblies for quality compliance, apply certification stamps, and transfer finished pipe to staging areas. Read work orders and fabrication drawings to complete assigned tasks accurately while maintaining clean, organized work areas and reporting equipment concerns promptly. Maintain production output and meet safety expectations by following all Standard Operating Procedures and completing required training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous welding experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or production environment
- Ability to successfully complete company welding certification requirements
- Experience operating welding equipment, plasma equipment, or similar fabrication machinery
- Experience working in a fast-paced production environment with daily productivity goals
- Basic math skills, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure (minimum 1/4-inch increments; finer measurements preferred)
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, production orders, and standard operating procedures
