Job Summary
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand project requirements. Measure and mark workpieces using straightedges, rulers, and calipers to ensure accuracy. Set up and operate welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding processes, to weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Inspect welds for defects and make necessary repairs, while cleaning workpieces to remove rust and scale. Monitor equipment for proper functioning and perform routine maintenance. Follow safety guidelines and collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines. Complete required documentation and recordkeeping related to welding activities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Welder
- strong portfolio of past welding projects
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Knowledge of different welding techniques and materials
- Familiarity with welding safety standards and procedures
- Ability to operate and maintain welding equipment
- Strong attention to detail and precision
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various positions and environments
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
