Job Summary
Operate specialized welding equipment and oversee machinery for welding; read and follow welding prints; achieve quality welds using GTAW/SMAW/SAW; operate overhead cranes, torches, grinders, forklifts; enforce safety standards; coordinate with Weld personnel and supervisors; maintain and repair welding equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Maintain proper training certification (GTAW, SMAW, SAW, GTAW Aluminum, etc.)
- Be capable of reading all prints issued to welding department
- Accurately follow welding instructions to provide quality welds within the appropriate approved methods
- Ability to use and operate overhead cranes, torches, grinders and forklifts
- Work closely and communicate clearly with the other departments, Weld personnel, Supervisor and Lead Man
- 3 years or more of proven welding experience
- Must be able to use precision measuring instruments
- Must be able to work overtime when necessary
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
