Job Summary
Welder/Pipefitter Journeyman sought for Industrial Services in Northeast Philadelphia. Responsibilities include reading P&IDs and ISO drawings, fabricating and assembling piping systems to high quality standards, using power tools (grinders, port-a-bands, saws, threading machines), rigging pipes in the air, and operating forklift, scissor lift, or high reach equipment. Must work with stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel pipe; possess metallurgy knowledge, welding safety, quality control, and troubleshoot equipment. Involves project involvement, planning and mentoring less experienced staff; 7:00 AM–3:30 PM schedule with overtime and weekend shifts; daily travel in the Philadelphia and Tri-State area. Tests include 6G GTAW and 6G SMAW, plus a layout pipe fitting test. Education required: high school diploma or equivalent; 5 years of industrial pipe fitting/welding experience; valid driver’s license and vehicle ownership; ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces; travel to customer sites in manufacturing, facilities maintenance, and construction.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in industrial pipe fitting/welding
- pass 6G GTAW test
- pass 6G SMAW test
- layout pipe fitting proficiency test
- high school diploma or equivalent (GED or trade school certificate acceptable)
- own a vehicle and hold a valid Driver's License
- willing to travel as needed
