Job Summary
Operate MIG/wire feed welders, plasma cutters, and robotic equipment to weld sub-assemblies and final assemblies in vertical, flat, lap, and overhead positions. Set up parts and assemblies, adjust machines for carbon and stainless steel gauges, and use blocking, braces, and jigs to align components. Grind rough edges, chip surplus weld, and perform measurement and quality checks while recording findings. Perform all tasks safely and efficiently, including mandatory overtime, to produce quality trailers for over-the-road trucking and specialty transportation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to accurately read and use gauges, tape measures, and read and understand blueprints
- Must be able to read and understand Process sheets
- Basic shop math (fractions, measurements)
- Knowledge of MIG and wire feed welding practices
- Knowledge of the setting up and operations of weld machines, oxygen and acetylene torch, plasma machines and robotic welders
- Knowledge of weld defect identification and repair
- Successfully pass written and hands on weld tests
- Successfully pass pulmonary function tests
- Ability to work mandatory overtime
