Job Summary
Perform MIG and TIG weld buildup to repair worn control valve components, including balls, plugs, discs, shafts, and bonnets. Grind, sand, machine, and polish restored parts to OEM dimensions, then fabricate sealed instrumentation systems per engineering specs. Operate automated welding lathes for diaphragms, conduct vacuum leak testing, and maintain inventory of standard fabricated parts and welding consumables. Fabricate shop fixtures, carts, and tooling while safely operating drills, grinders, and oxy-acetylene equipment. Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain organized work areas. Requires 1+ year of MIG/TIG experience, 2G certification, and ability to stand 6–8 hours per shift lifting up to 30 pounds in an industrial setting.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of MIG and TIG welding experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or fabrication environment
- Ability to successfully pass a 2G welding certification
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques
- Experience welding a variety of metals, including: Mild Steel, 316 Stainless Steel, Hastelloy, Stellite Alloy 6
- Ability to read work instructions, drawings, and specifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to safely operate fabrication equipment and hand tools
- Excellent organizational skills and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to stand for extended periods (6–8 hours per shift)
- Ability to frequently lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to safely perform repetitive welding, grinding, lifting, and material handling tasks
- Must be able to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience repairing or fabricating precision metal components
- Experience with industrial valves, instrumentation, or rotating equipment
