Job Summary
Welders are responsible for fusing metal materials together using high heat equipment and various welding processes including MIG, TIG, and electric arc welding. They fit and assemble metal components to form structures, operate hand-welding and flame-cutting equipment, and handle different materials such as steel, iron, aluminum, and composite materials. Additionally, welders read blueprints to determine welding specifications, conduct assessments for appropriate methods, and ensure compliance with safety protocols to maintain a risk-free work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with MIG, TIG, and electric arc welding processes
- Proficient in fitting and assembling metal components
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings
- Experience with hand-welding and flame-cutting equipment
