Job Summary
Lay out pieces for assembly per blueprints, schematics, or work orders. Use manual, semi-automatic, or automatic welding equipment to join, surface, fabricate, and repair metal parts. Position components in jigs, fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools. Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications, codes, and industry standards. Perform minor maintenance on equipment and observe all standard safety practices while maintaining required records. Participate in safety committees as required. Operate hydraulic press brakes, plasma cutting tables, overhead cranes, and various welding torches. Work on millwright, pipefitting, sheet metal, and rigging projects as requested by the Multi-Craft Millwright Foreman.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to pass structural and 6G pipe weld test
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Two + years of experience with industrial and commercial applications
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Fork Lift license
- Ability to operate the following equipment: Hydraulic press brake, hydraulic shear, Vulcan plasma cutting table, Pittsburg machine, TDC machine, Roller machine (three types), Hand break, Bead roller machine, Bead forming machine, Stomp shear, Magna bend, Pin spot machine, Drill press, Band saw, Plasma torch, Track torch, Mig and Tig Welders, Overhead Crane, and Forklift
