Job Summary
Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components according to specifications and blueprints in a factory environment using MIG welding techniques on various metals and alloys. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to understand project requirements, then set up welding equipment including power sources, wire feeders, and shielding gas systems. Select appropriate materials and techniques based on job specifications, fabricate components, and inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards and project requirements. Perform necessary repairs or modifications to existing metal structures while maintaining a clean work area and adhering to all safety protocols. Collaborate with team members, troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, and participate in ongoing training. This full-time role includes two shift options: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, or four ten-hour days Monday through Thursday, 5 pm to 3:30 am. Overtime is available.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 years of experience as a professional welder
- Proficiency in MIG welding techniques and equipment
- Strong blueprint reading skills and ability to interpret technical drawings
- Knowledge of various metals and their properties
- Familiarity with welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME)
- Valid welding certification(s)
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)
- Monday through Friday, 8 am to 430 pm
- Monday through Thursday, 5 pm to 3:30 am
Desired Qualifications
- Vocational training or certification in welding
- Experience with other welding processes (TIG, Stick)
