Job Summary
Welder responsible for MIG welding and torch cutting to fabricate and repair waste and recycling equipment. Reads shop drawings and blueprints, layouts and secures parts, and uses a variety of hand and power tools to assemble components. Works primarily in a production shop in Brampton, ON, with Black Steel (mild carbon) of gauges 10, 12, 14 and plates up to 3/8". Tasks include fabricating to specifications, measuring and interpreting measurements, lifting up to 50 pounds, and contributing to refurbishment projects. The role emphasizes accuracy, independent work and teamwork, with standard hours 7:00 am – 3:30 pm and a hourly pay range of $24-$28, plus a 5% incentive bonus of base salary.
Required Qualifications
- Proven MIG Welding Experience
- Strong proficiency in blueprint interpretation
- Experience in fitting operations
- Comfortable with a variety of hand and power tools
- Skill in reading and interpreting measuring tape
- Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds
