Job Summary
Interpret mechanical drawings and weld components in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions using gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding, submerged arc welding, and laser beam welding. Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt parts to achieve required configurations. Operate CNC, Swiss, and manual turning machines for machining operations like turning, boring, threading, and facing. Detect faulty equipment or defective materials, notify supervisors, and perform basic machine maintenance. Monitor welding processes to prevent overheating or warping, examine workpieces for defects, and comply with ISO, FDA, GMP, 6S, and Lean Manufacturing programs. Work Monday through Thursday from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM with overtime eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of welding experience
- Trade school education
- Understanding of Welding equipment and the different processes
- Able to pass a 6G aerospace pipe test (within 60 days of hire)
- General knowledge of manual machining (chucker, engine lathe, manual mill)
- Understanding of deburring tools
- TIG Welder Certification
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to weld; Carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and other alloys as needed
- Ability to use inspection equipment
- Proficient in assigned welding techniques
- Monday - Thursday 3:30PM - 2:00AM + overtime
