Job Summary
Interpret mechanical drawings and weld components in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions using gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, plasma arc, and laser beam welding. Clamp, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt parts to achieve required configurations, then monitor processes to prevent overheating or warping. Operate CNC, Swiss, and manual turning machines for machining operations like turning, boring, and threading on metal and plastic workpieces. Detect faulty equipment or defective materials, perform basic equipment maintenance, and examine workpieces for conformance with specifications. Comply with ISO, FDA, GMP, 6S, and Lean Manufacturing programs while conducting yourself in line with company values. Work Monday through Thursday from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM with overtime on Fridays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of welding experience
- Trade school education
- Understanding of Welding equipment and the different processes
- Ability to pass a 6G aerospace pipe test (within 60 days of hire)
- General knowledge of manual machining (chucker, engine lathe, manual mill)
- Understanding of deburring tools
- TIG Welder Certification
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to weld; Carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and other alloys as needed
- Ability to use inspection equipment
- Proficient in assigned welding techniques
- Monday - Thursday 5:00AM - 3:30PM + overtime on Friday
- Non-exempt (hourly)
