Job Summary
Select and safely use appropriate equipment for welding tasks, including root passes, back gouging, and structural welds for heat exchangers and process equipment. Perform all welding operations while interpreting and following welding procedures, checking completed work against specifications before finalization. Maintain good housekeeping, ensure proper equipment storage, and communicate safety, productivity, and quality aspects to leadership. Adhere to standards for safe rigging, overhead crane operation, and physical demands involving lifting up to 50 pounds and working at heights up to 25 feet. Requires 4-7 years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Welder II qualified on all processes and in all positions for the different processes
- Qualified on a vast array of material including P1, P8, P10H and nickel alloys
- Master welder capable and willing to perform all tasks, without backlash, and in a timely manner
- Willing to perform welding root passes
- Willing to perform back gouging
- Willing to perform cleanup of back gouge roots
- Willing to perform tube to tube joints
- Willing to perform tube to tube sheet joints not including QW-193
- Willing to perform structural welds
- Willing to perform other pressure retaining welds used in the fabrication of equipment for customers
- Must be able to interpret and follow welding procedures
- 4-7 years relevant work experience
