Job Summary
Fabricate stainless steel equipment for food processing by reading blueprints and engineering drawings to fit and weld assemblies and sub-assemblies. Operate gas torches, plasma equipment, and overhead cranes while using pneumatic hand tools, fixtures, templates, and guides. Perform MIG, TIG, and TIP/TIG welding with minimum supervision, applying imperial and metric measurements to ensure tolerances. Complete written and practical weld tests to secure employment.
Required Qualifications
- High school education, community college weld program, technical weld school, or equivalent experience
- Three years' experience in welding fabrication
- Basic GMAW and GTAW abilities
- Knowledge of gas torch and plasma equipment
- Overhead crane operations
- Pneumatic hand tools such grinders
- Able to use fixtures, templates, stops and/or guides
- Experience in MIG, TIG, and TIP/TIG welding
- Competence in reading and fully understanding manufacturing drawings
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Confidence with measurements, tolerances, and both imperial measurement and metric system
- Success completion of weld written and practical tests
- Pre-employment drug screen
