Job Summary
Receive direction from the Shop Manager regarding job sequencing and priorities. Assess existing equipment for repairs, rebuilding, resurfacing, and refurbishing. Ensure work not meeting standards does not leave the shop and address all relevant issues. Maintain shop equipment and participate in cleaning duties. Inform the Shop Manager of jobs requiring extra time or resources. Complete daily reports, checklists, inspections, Hazard Observations, Job Safety Analysis, First Aid Records, and Spill reports. Collaborate with team members and maintain a safe workplace through safety training and practice. Requires a valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to lift, bend, and climb.
Required Qualifications
- Gas Tungsten arc (TIG) welding
- Gas metal arc (MIG) welding
- Oxy-acetylene (OAW) welding and brazing
- Experience with measuring and cutting to size
- Experience with measuring and fitting components to desired dimensions
- Ability to read drawings and use of measuring tools
- Basic understanding of metallurgy
- A valid driver's license and good driving record
