Job Summary
Perform MIG welding on steel structural tubing and complex assemblies to fabricate components for earthmoving scrapers. Layout and weld complicated steel assemblies while managing heat build-up, distortion, and stack-up to maintain squareness. Read architectural blueprints, take precise measurements, and operate power tools like drills, grinders, and torque wrenches to ensure proper fit and alignment. Work independently with minimal supervision, adhering to safety policies, housekeeping requirements, and ISO standards. Requires 10-hour day or night shifts, four days per week, based in Rosenort, MB. Must hold Level II Welder certification and a valid Class 5 driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Must reside in Manitoba
- Possess a valid class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to commute to our facility in Rosenort, Manitoba
- Technical college diploma or equivalent certification in welding or a related field
- Minimum Level II Welder certification with demonstrated ability to handle complex welding and fabrication tasks
- Proven experience in a welding role, with a strong understanding of blueprints and technical documents
- Hands-on experience with various hand and power tools
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities throughout the shift
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent safety and housekeeping practice
- Able to lift to 50lbs unassisted as required
- Able to bend, kneel, stoop, stand, reach, climb, twist and/or crawl
- Able to work in areas regularly exposed to high noise level and vibration, not afraid of heights
- Able to pass a weld test
- Must be comfortable working in a workshop environment with exposure to welding heat, fumes, and noise
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as welding helmets (PAPR), gloves, and protective clothing for extended periods
- 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week (Monday–Thursday)
- 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM (Night shift premium applies)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with ISO standards or similar quality management systems is a plus
