Job Summary
Welder opportunity with Progress Rail in Muncie, IN, operating MIG and Stick welding equipment to fabricate and join components, interpreting blueprints and BOMs, and maintaining welding certifications; roles include advanced welding techniques, certification goals (AWS D1.1), preventative maintenance on welding equipment, training of less experienced welders, and potential robot-welder exposure. Requires safety compliance, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and ability to work shifts (1st/2nd/3rd) with OT as needed; benefits include PTO, holidays, health insurance premium assistance, and retirement programs.
Required Qualifications
- Technical certifications may substitute for experience
- Preferred certifications in GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW
- Certified Welder with knowledge of MIG, Stick, TIG, and Flux Core (as stated)
- Ability to interpret welding blueprints and drawings
- Ability to obtain welding certification in line with ISO, AAR, and other standards
